Population serviced

Programs are offered across the following age bands: children and parent class, preschool/kindergarten, intermediate, junior and teenage and young adults.
  • Children or young adults with cerebral palsy or a similar motor disability
  • Families of children or young adults with cerebral palsy or a similar disability
  • Other service providers seeking information

Service model

  • Conductive education's overall aim is to encourage and develop the child or young adult's independence and ability to actively participate as part of a family, their own social/education environment and the wider community
  • It is a planned, coordinated, educational approach that takes into account all the developmental needs of the child or young adults
  • Within a group setting the child or young adult is motivated to learn how to 'problem-solve' the difficulties that their motor disability creates and to become aware of their own abilities and competence.

If the family requires other Spastic Centre services then Pathways will assist with entry into these services.

Staffing

Qualified conductors who received their degree at the Peto Institute in Hungary run all programs.
