South
East Health has the highest number of notifications of Hepatitis C
infection in NSW, comprising 18% of the States total notifications.
The surveillance, prevention and treatment of Hepatitis C represent
major challenges for the Area.
The
Hepatitis C Strategy was developed by the HIV/AIDS and Related Diseases
Unit
with considerable input from relevant service providers and advisory
agents. It provides information and direction on a broad range of
initiatives to address the disease. These include:
