South
East Health has taken the lead in the State in developing and implementing
the Specialist Mental Health Services for Older People Strategic
Plan 1999 - 2004. The Plan is a significant initiative towards the
establishment of coordinated and effective services for older people with
mental health problems. It provides for service improvement, emphasises
population based services and combines elements of health promotion,
prevention and consumer focused care. The plan leads the way in building a
strong, comprehensive, effective and integrated service network across the
Area. It has been developed within the context of the South East Health
Mental Health Strategic Plan 1999 - 2004, the NSW and National mental
health plans. |
